We are highly skilled contractors with extensive experience working on projects with heritage requirements such as listed buildings or properties within conservation areas. Whether we’re working within the Crown Estate or on a historic church, we’ll liaise closely with the appointed surveyor and relevant planning organisations to ensure that all our work is completed according to the highest standard and within the necessary guidelines. We combine traditional techniques with modern construction knowledge, producing durable results that preserve a building’s character.
Heritage expertise
Our skillset combines roofing and restoration expertise, making us the ideal choice for a wide range of restoration projects. These services naturally complement one another – the scaffolding erected during a roof renewal on your historic property provides the perfect opportunity to also restore its façade by cleaning brickwork or repairing sash windows. We can work to the specification provided by your appointed surveyor, or we can carry out a site survey and advise you on the most practical, efficient course of action for your property. However you wish to proceed, we’ll be able to provide the professional support your property requires.
Our key areas of heritage expertise include:
Roofing
We are members of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC), with repair and renewal expertise that covers flat and pitched roof types. Our team has extensive experience with traditional roofing materials and techniques, specialising in natural slate and handmade clay tile roofs. We can also provide a number of other roofing options, including bituminous felt membranes that can be used waterproof historic flat roofs.
Leadwork
Our team contains highly skilled leadworkers with specialist knowledge of historic property types throughout London and the surrounding Home Counties. Covering everything from lead flat roofs through to flashings and decorative leadwork elements, we deliver high quality results that comply with all the latest industry guidelines and developments. This allows the work we produce to have an intended lifespan of up to 150 years.
Brickwork
We are accredited within the Stonehealth Rosette Scheme and have invested in their TORC system to ensure that we have the equipment we need to provide the best possible brickwork and stone cleaning service. This is a key component of our heritage and external restoration services, alongside a wide range of options for stucco, pointing, and rendering that can be used to renew and preserve the character of a building’s historic exterior.

Working in
conservation areas
We’ve successfully completed a number of heritage projects in conservation areas and will be able to ensure that all the work we carry out complies with the necessary planning regulations. This includes installing features such as conservation skylights if specified.
Taking safety seriously
Our approach is built around site safety, making sure that safe working practices are implemented throughout all our projects. We are proud of our CHAS and Constructionline accreditations and have invested in an external health and safety consultant to ensure all our documentation meets the latest standards. Whenever we’re on site, our team will always be wearing the necessary PPE and will be fully trained for their work. We don’t compromise when it comes to the safety of our team, fellow contractors, residents, or passersby.
